Since the beginning of the annual camp meetings, it has been generally organized, by the Kanji and Youth Division Leaders of the Sen Myo Zan Hokkeji Temple in Ghana.
This year’s camp meeting, which was hosted by the Takoradi District was filled with planned activities, which included Hiking, Swimming, Soccer, visiting Cape Three Points etc and a Seminar; which enabled the members to bond and socialize.

Chief Priest, Rev. Imafuku and Assistant Priest, Rev. Suenaga, together with the members conducted Morning and Evening Gongyo consistently in the Assembly Hall of the Baidoo Bonsu Senior high school,which was the Camp Site for this year’s summer camp. The final year students on the school premises then had the chance to observe how Gongyo was conducted and asked questions about Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism.
“The main initiative of this Camp Meeting is to do Shakubuku (propagating Buddhism) and bond with other members”, said Dr. Kwame Odame Boamah, Koto of the Sen Myo Zan Hokkeji Temple.
Mr Moses, district leader of Takoradi, stated clearly at the Climax of the Camp meeting on 17th April, 2017, that it was a success.
According to him, this year’s camp meeting was an Improvement compared to last year’s meeting.
“Next year the Tarkwa district will host Summer Campmeeting and I hope there’d be a great Improvement”, he added.
Members from Accra, Tema, Takoradi, Tarkwa, Kumasi and Sunyani participated in this year’s Summer Camp. In all, ninety-six( 96) members were present to make this Buddhist activity a success.
